Climate and orientation

Saryu plain with hot sticky summers and a heavy monsoon; a shaded river facing terrace and a well ventilated puja room top most briefs in the temple town boom. We also check the plot facing early, because Vastu placement and sun path have to be solved together.

Soil and structure

Soft Saryu alluvium with a high water table and wide flood lines; raft foundations and a high plinth are advisable on plots toward the river. Our structural engineer sizes footings and columns from the soil report, which is why we ask for a soil test before the working drawings are issued.

Approvals in Ayodhya

Plans are sanctioned by Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) and Nagar Nigam. ADA has introduced facade and height guidelines along the Ram Path and core heritage zone; elsewhere plots usually permit ground plus two floors with standard setbacks. We draw to those setbacks and ground coverage limits from the first sketch, so the sanction drawing and the design are the same drawing.
