Climate and orientation

Industrial town on the Kelo river with long hot summers, a generous monsoon and winters cool enough for a sunny verandah. Dust from the sponge-iron belt argues for sealed windows and smooth exterior finishes. We also check the plot facing early, because Vastu placement and sun path have to be solved together.

Soil and structure

Laterite and red sandy soil over granite and sandstone; shallow rock gives easy footings while the Kelo bank needs flood-line clearance. Our structural engineer sizes footings and columns from the soil report, which is why we ask for a soil test before the working drawings are issued.

Approvals in Raigarh
