घर के सामने का design चुनने का सबसे आसान तरीका तीन सवाल हैं। सामने की चौड़ाई कितनी है, floor कितने हैं और budget कितना है। इन तीन के जवाब से design की style अपने आप तय हो जाती है। 20 फीट पर simple और ऊंची लकीरें, 30 फीट पर दो material का मेल, 40 फीट पर बड़े projection और columns।
सामने का design घर का चेहरा है। हमारे Indore studio में लोग सबसे पहले elevation की photo ही लेकर आते हैं। पर हम उन्हें बताते हैं कि elevation नक्शे के बाद बनता है, पहले नहीं। खिड़की, balcony और दरवाजे की जगह नक्शे से तय होती है, elevation उन्हें सुंदर बनाता है। नक्शे की मूल बातें हमारी घर का नक्शा कैसे बनाएं guide में हैं।
- Simple modern: सीधी लकीरें, flat छत, 2 रंग, कम खर्च। सबसे ज्यादा चलने वाला।
- Contemporary: बड़ा projection, लकड़ी के पट्टे, कांच की railing, texture paint।
- Traditional या Indian: ढलान वाली छत, जाली, चौखट पर पत्थर, मंदिर जैसी detail।
- Minimal: एक ही रंग, grooves, छिपी हुई lights, बहुत साफ look।
20 फीट सामने वाले घर का design
20 फीट चौड़े plot (20x40, 20x50) पर सबसे बड़ी चुनौती यह है कि घर पतला न लगे। इसके लिए हम तीन चीजें करते हैं। खिड़कियां एक सीध में ऊपर नीचे रखते हैं जिससे ऊंची लकीर बनती है। balcony की railing पूरी चौड़ाई में ले जाते हैं। और एक तरफ 7 से 8 फीट ऊंची लकड़ी या stone की पट्टी सीढ़ी के साथ ऊपर तक जाती है।
रंग हल्के रखें, सफेद या हल्का grey, और एक ही गहरा रंग सीढ़ी वाली पट्टी पर। गहरे रंग घर को और पतला दिखाते हैं। दुकान वाले 20 फीट घर में signboard और ऊपर की railing एक line में रखने की सलाह हमने दुकान के साथ मकान के नक्शे वाली post में दी है।

20 फीट चौड़े घर में parapet (छत की दीवार) 4 फीट से ऊंची न रखें और उसे खुली railing से बदलें। घर 2 फीट ऊंचा और हल्का दिखता है।
30 और 40 फीट सामने वाले duplex का design
30 फीट और उससे चौड़े सामने पर design में खेलने की जगह मिलती है। यहां हम सामने को दो हिस्सों में बांटते हैं। एक हिस्सा आगे निकला हुआ (projection) और एक पीछे। आगे वाले हिस्से पर texture या stone, पीछे वाले पर plain paint। इससे गहराई बनती है और घर महंगा लगता है।
30 फीट duplex
सामने parking के ऊपर 4 से 5 फीट का projection, उस पर master bedroom की बड़ी खिड़की। बगल में main door के ऊपर double height (दो floor की ऊंचाई) का खुला हिस्सा। यह आज सबसे ज्यादा मांगा जाने वाला design है।
40 फीट duplex या villa

elevation का खर्च दो तरह से गिना जाता है। एक सामने की दीवार के area पर per sq ft, दूसरा पूरे घर के lump sum के रूप में। 30 फीट चौड़े G+1 घर की सामने की दीवार लगभग 30x22 यानी 660 sq ft होती है।
- Basic: plain paint, grooves, simple railing। Rs 150 से 250 per sq ft, यानी Rs 1 से 1.7 लाख।
- Standard: texture paint, 1 stone पट्टी, MS railing, कुछ lights। Rs 250 से 400 per sq ft, Rs 1.7 से 2.7 लाख।
- Premium: stone cladding, HPL पट्टे, glass railing, छिपी lights। Rs 400 से 800 per sq ft, Rs 2.7 से 5.3 लाख।

सामने के design में आम गलतियां
हम site पर जाते हैं तो ये गलतियां बार बार दिखती हैं। इन्हें पहले से बचा लें।
- बिना 3D design के मिस्त्री से elevation बनवाना। बाद में projection तोड़ कर दोबारा बनाना पड़ता है।
- 4 से 5 रंग और 4 material एक साथ। घर शोर करता हुआ लगता है।
- पानी की टंकी और सीढ़ी का mumty सामने दिखना। इन्हें पीछे रखें या parapet से छिपाएं।
- AC की outdoor unit सामने की दीवार पर। नक्शे में ही बगल की दीवार पर जगह रखें।
