Climate and orientation
Desert edge heat with 45 C days and cool nights, plus occasional heavy monsoon bursts; thick walls, jharokha shading, courtyards and a chhatri topped terrace are tradition for a reason. We also check the plot facing early, because Vastu placement and sun path have to be solved together.
Soil and structure
Sandy soil over Aravalli quartzite with excellent bearing on the hill side, while the Sanganer and Jagatpura plains have loose sand needing wider footings. Our structural engineer sizes footings and columns from the soil report, which is why we ask for a soil test before the working drawings are issued.
