Climate and orientation

Sits in the Aravalli lee so the heat is drier than Delhi; stone jaalis and thick parapets are traditional answers, and a north facing courtyard keeps bedrooms usable in June. We also check the plot facing early, because Vastu placement and sun path have to be solved together.

Soil and structure

Rocky Aravalli outcrops in Surajkund and sectors near the hills give excellent bearing, while the Yamuna side around Greater Faridabad has softer silty soil. Our structural engineer sizes footings and columns from the soil report, which is why we ask for a soil test before the working drawings are issued.

Approvals in Faridabad

Plans are sanctioned by Municipal Corporation of Faridabad (MCF) and HSVP. HSVP sector plots typically allow stilt plus three or four floors under Haryana's building code with ground coverage and FAR scaled to plot size. We draw to those setbacks and ground coverage limits from the first sketch, so the sanction drawing and the design are the same drawing.
